D.C. police investigated and cleared two suspicious packages found Tuesday in Northwest and Southeast D.C.
In the morning, a suspicious package was reported at the Warner Theatre in Northwest D.C. Police did not say what the suspicious package was, but said it was rendered safe.
Several buildings near 13th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue were evacuated out of an abundance of caution.
In the afternoon, police investigated a suspicious package found near the Marine Barracks in Southeast D.C. The package in Southeast D.C. was found inside a trash can at 8th and I streets SE, police said. Streets in the area are closed temporarily.
That package also was rendered safe, police said.
