Police are searching for whoever shot and killed a bear out of season in Frederick County, Maryland.
Maryland Natural Resources police said they were called to the Frederick City Watershed area and found the body of the bear. The bear was killed out of season.
Black bear season in Maryland runs from Oct. 23 to Oct. 26 and is only available in Alleghany, Frederick, Garrett, and Washington counties. Police did not say what type of weapon was used to kill the bear.
Anyone with information about the poacher is asked to call police at 800.635.6124 on the Catch-A-Poacher hotline.
