Zoning Commission Adopts Rules for Gun Shop Locations

WASHINGTON -- Rules recently adopted by the D.C. Zoning Commission will allow gun stores in commercial corridors in every corner of the city, the D.C. Examiner's Michael Neibauer reported.

The emergency legislation allows gun stores allows the gun stores in most commercial corridors not zoned for neighborhood retail.

They also will be allowed to open throughout most of downtown D.C. and in some industrial zones. The number of possible locations is significantly limited because each store must be at least 300 feet away from the nearest home, school, library, playground or church.
