Va. Beach Teacher Charged With Selling Marijuana

Prosecutors charged a Virginia Beach High School teacher with selling marijuana and other drug-related violations.

Virginia Beach police arrested 59-year-old Darcy Mahler at her home after detectives delivered a package to her home last week. They then executed a search warrant and seized several pounds of marijuana. Two others at Mahler’s home were arrested. All three are charged with the sale and distribution of marijuana, transporting of controlled substances, and conspiracy to violate the Drug Control Act.

Mahler works at Kellam High School in Virginia Beach.

School officials told the Virginian-Pilot that she’s been suspended without pay and she has been employed by the school system since 1987.
