FREDERICK, Md. -- A teenager was shot within a block of Gov. Thomas Johnson High School in Frederick Tuesday afternoon.
City police found the student suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest when responding to a report of shots fired about 20 minutes after class was dismissed. The 17-year-old boy had gone to a nearby gas station for help.
Nearby schools were locked down.
The victim is believed to have been targeted, police said.
There is no word on his condition.
