School officials in Prince William County are considering cutting back the school day for kindergarten students.
Classes would go from a full-day to a half-day.
Officials say the move is a part of $11 million in possible cuts for next year's budget. Among those cuts is the elimination of bus service for special programs at middle and high schools.
The chairman of the school board says the system will need to make cuts if the county approves a proposal to hold real estate tax bills at the rate of inflation.
The school board will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Kelly Leadership Center in Mansassas.
