Police release image of suspect

Rockville City Police are still searching for the person who took a Maltese puppy from a local pet store two weeks ago.

The puppy went missing at the Just Puppies store in the Twinbrook Shopping Center around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 12.

Employees believe the culprit is a woman who asked them to see a Maltese puppy. She played with one for 15 to 20 minutes, but employees say that when they became distracted, the woman put the puppy in her purse and left the store.

Employees described the suspect as a white female, age 25-30, weighing 110-120 pounds and between 5'6" and 5'8". She has a tattoo of an outlined Cheshire cat on the back of her neck and spoke with an eastern European accent.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Rockville City Criminal Investigations Unit at 240-314-8938.
