Puppy Found Frozen to Tree up for Adoption

Teen faces animal abuse charges

HAGERSTOWN, Md. -- A Hagerstown teenager is facing animal abuse charges after neighbors found his weeks-old puppy frozen to a tree.

The Humane Society of Washington County said the puppy named Duncan survived the ordeal. But the now-eight-week-old shepherd mix lost a patch of hair when the neighbors who found him tied to a tree in a wooded area behind an apartment complex freed him Jan. 30, the Herald-Mail reported.

Christopher William Lorshbaugh, 18, faces four misdemeanor charges. The teenager has surrendered the puppy to the Humane Society, which hopes it will be adopted, Humane Society spokeswoman Katherine Cooker said.
