Man Found Injured in Arlington County, Police Seeking Witnesses

Arlington County Police are asking anyone who saw the man the night he was injured to come forward

The family of an Arlington County man who was found unresponsive with injuries to his head last month is still seeking answers as to how he was injured and now police say any witnesses should come forward.

Police say a 65-year-old man, identified by the family as Abdulkader Yassin, was found lying face down in the 1200 block of S. Eads Street on the night of Feb. 25.

The person who found him left the scene after medics arrived and police are asking them, and any others, to come forward.

"We're all in shock. It doesn't make sense. So, we want answers," Mimi Abdulkader, Yassin's daughter, told News4's Darcy Spencer on Saturday.

Abdulkader said her father was found along the route he typically takes to a bus stop after leaving work at a vitamin store nearby.

"We've run all the tests we could. There was nothing medically wrong that could have caused this," she said.

One side of Yassin's face was virtually crushed and on the other side of his head, a cut required staples to close, Spencer reported.

Abdulkader believes those injuries don't appear to be from a fall and are evidence her father was attacked.

Yassin is curently in "stable yet critical condition" at the hospital, police said Wednesday.
