It will soon be a little safer to ride bikes in Alexandria, Va., after the city council voted to add bike lanes along King Street.
There will be a bike lane in each direction between Russell Road and Janney’s Lane.
Some Old Town residents said King Street was way too narrow for bike lanes and argue they will just take away parking spots, which are hard to come by.
Supporters said bike lanes will form a buffer and make it safer for people to walk along King Street.
