Officer Shoots, Kills Man in Prince George's County

Police are investigating a fatal police-involved shooting in Prince George's County, Md.

An officer was on routine patrol in the 8100 block of Sheriff Road when he saw three men behaving suspiciously. The men fled as the officer approached, but he was able to catch one.

In the ensuing struggle, the officer used a stun gun, but the man did not relent and pulled out the stun gun tongs.

The man then reached for a revolver he was carrying, according to police, and the officer shot the man.

The officer was not hurt and has been placed on routine administrative leave.
