An owl in Fairfax County was left a little dazed and confused after it smacked the pavement instead of its intended target last week.
Fairfax County police say concered citizens in the area of Vale Road in Oakton, Virginia, called police Nov. 30 after the owl "got the angle of attack wrong."
It's not clear what the owl was going after, but the bird hit the roadway instead of the object it set its sights on, police say.
An officer gave the owl a little TLC, posed for a quick photo and set it free.
