OMB Acting Director to Light National Menorah

Ceremony set for Sunday afternoon

Jeffrey Zients, the acting head of the Office of Management and Budget, will light the National Menorah near the White House.

The lighting ceremony is scheduled for Sunday at 4 p.m., the second day of the eight-day Hannukah holiday, which begins Saturday night.

President Jimmy Carter attended the first menorah lighting in 1979. President Ronald Reagan dubbed it the “National Menorah.”

Free tickets to the event are available online at NationalMenorah.org.
