The Montgomery County Council is scheduled to formally approve the county's $5 billion budget.
The council is set to meet on the budget Thursday in Rockville. The council reached in agreement on the fiscal year 2016 budget earlier this month.
The budget reflects a 1.7 percent increase over the last fiscal year.
After the budget vote, a bill will be introduced to reorganize the county's Department of Economic Development into the new Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation, as planned by County Executive Isiah Leggett.
