Mine! Job Seekers Battle Odds for Employment

U.S. sees three people for every job available

Are you trying to find a job?

You're not the only one.

There are about three times as many people looking for work than there are jobs available, according to statistics released by the Bureau of Labor for October 2008.

The number of people looking for work in October surpassed 10 million, but there were only 3.1 million jobs available in the U.S., according to the Economic Policy Institute.

The trend probably will continue in the coming months.  November's U.S. unemployment number rose by a quarter of a million, according to EPI.
