Prince William County Police are searching for a man who tried to take a child from a Dale City daycare center.
A staff member at Small World Day Care told police a man came into the daycare center on April 3 and asked for a specific child. Police say the man claimed to be associated with the child's family, but the staff member couldn't find his name on a list of people authorized to pick the child up.
After reviewing surveillance video, the parents told police that they didn't know the man.
He was seen in the surveillance video leaving the area in a dark-colored Mini Cooper.
Detectives believe the incident could be a misunderstanding, but would still like to talk to the man.
