Man Shot, Killed Outside Takeout Restaurant in Northeast D.C.

Police have identified the 27-year-old man fatally shot outside a takeout restaurant in northeast D.C. Monday afternoon.

Gregory Brown was shot coming out of the restaurant in the 600 block of Division Avenue.

Witnesses said people went through Brown's pockets after he was shot, News4's Pat Collins reported. He was pronounced dead several hours after the shooting, marking the city's eighth homicide since Dec. 23.

The Metropolitan Police Department was alerted by shot spotter and a 911 call.

There is no word on a motive or a suspect.

At a news conference Monday afternoon, police said they have not made any links between any of the shootings that have occurred since Christmas Eve.
