Investigators Probe Fatal Fairfax City Crash

Investigators in the City of Fairfax are trying to figure out what caused the driver of an SUV to run off the roadway early Monday morning.

The deadly crash happened at about 1:30 a.m. on Pickett Road between Colonial Avenue and Mathy Drive.

Police said a 23-year-old man and his 20-year-old brother were traveling south on Pickett Road when the vehicle left the road and struck two trees. The SUV rolled over several times before stopping in the median.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His brother is expected to survive.
