Hyattsville Police Work to Catch Serial Intruder

Police say he targets single women, his latest attack was Tuesday morning.

Hyattsville police are looking for a man who they say is responsible for at least 10 incidents of breaking and entering; they say he's been targeting single women for the past year.  

The burglary suspect has raped at least 1 victim and attempted to rape another, according to authorities.

Police say the suspect is entering through first floor apartment windows and unlocked doors.  The latest incident was reported Tuesday around 3:30 a.m. in the 2600 block of Nicholson Street, at the Kirkwood Apartments.  

A woman woke up to find a man in her bedroom.  Police say the suspect demanded money and began beating and choking the woman as she fought back.  Detectives believe he entered and exited through an open kitchen window.

Police are urging all residents to lock all widows and doors and to report any suspicious behavior to the Hyattsville Police at 301-985-5060.
