Surveillance video caught the moment of impact when a van crashed into the Over The Rainbow Salon in Clarksville, Md., last weekend.
No one was in the business at the time. The driver left the scene, but did leave his insurance information. Turns out the driver of the van owns a business next door. He told police he hit the gas instead of the brakes.
Salon owner Karen Delbrugge said she's going to have to use some of her own insurance to pay to clean up the destruction. That will mean a deductible that she can't really afford. She's been given estimates of up to $25,000 just to clean up the debris, so she says she's going to be doing as much as she can on her own.
"We can kind of laugh at it now, thinking you can't imagine a car coming through your business," Delbrugge said. "But nobody was here, so that was the most important thing."
Karen is hoping to have the damage cleaned up enough to take care of her young clients hoping to get their hair ready for prom this weekend.
