Girls Approached By Suspicious Man at Bus Stops

Two disturbing incidents within minutes of each other Monday morning have police warning of a possible child predator in Prince William County, Va.

Both happened as middle school-aged girls waited for the school bus.

Just after 7:30 a.m., a girl was waiting at a bus stop at Main Street And Graham Street in Dumfries when she said a man pulled up and offered her a ride. She said no, and he quickly sped away, she said.

Less than 10 minutes later, another student reported a similar incident while she was waiting at a bus stop just a half-mile away at Main Street and Mine Road.

Neither girl was hurt, and both reported what happened to authorities at Graham Middle School.

Police are worried about the suspect’s motivations in offering the girls rides. His vehicle was described as an older model dirty silver van with tinted windows and a dent in the rear passenger side bumper.

Anyone who may know something about this case is asked to call Prince William County police at (866) 411-TIPS.
