Giant Food Recalls Ice Cream Bars Due to Potential Listeria Contamination

Ice cream bars carried at Giant grocery stores have been recalled because they could be contaminated with listeria.

The company announced Wednesday that Fieldbrook Foods Corporation recalled the items.

The recall effects the following products:

  • Giant Brand Orange Cream Bars, 12 count, UPC 68826703292 with best by dates between January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018
  • Giant Brand Arctic Bars, 12 count, UPC 68826703323 with best by dates between January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018
  • Polar Express Variety Pack, 30 count, UPC 7163261369 with best by dates between January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018

Giant -- which has stores in D.C, Maryland, Virginia and Delaware -- advised anyone who bought the products to throw them away. Customers can bring their receipt to a store and get a full refund.

Giant said they are not aware of anyone who got sick after eating the ice cream bars.
