Authorities say a missing family of five from Maryland moved to North Carolina.
Myung Joo, 33; his wife Youn Kim, 35; and their three children, Laura Joo, 5; Jenna Joo, 3; and Brandon Joo, 1, were last seen on Oct. 23. A family friend reported Myung Joo missing after he did not return to work that evening.
The couple's oldest child was also checked out of school early that day.
Investigators say one of the family's vehicles was not at their home and both cell phones had been turned off.
The family contacted the Korean Consulate on Monday and informed them that they moved to North Carolina, Amanda Hatcher, a spokeswoman for the sheriff's office, said. The family says everyone is safe and well.
Deputies with the Frederick County Sheriff's Office have reached out to North Carolina authorities to check on the family.
