District of Columbia government revenues have increased slightly, meaning Mayor Muriel Bowser has a smaller budget gap to fill.
The District's chief financial officer announced Friday that projected revenues for the upcoming fiscal year have increased by $37 million. For fiscal 2017, revenues are up by $47 million.
Bowser said the city must close a $250 million gap between anticipated spending and revenues. Now that deficit is slightly smaller. The Democratic mayor will submit her first budget in April. She took office in January.
