David Millard, 60, of Honolulu, charged with kidnapping and sexual abuse

A Hawaii man is accused of bringing an unconscious woman from a D.C. hotel lobby to his room and sexually assaulting her.

David Millard, 60, of Honolulu, was due in D.C. Superior Court Monday morning.

He has been charged with kidnapping and second-degree sexual abuse in the Thursday incident.

According to a police document, Millard was a guest at the the Grand Hyatt Hotel at 1000 H Street NW, where the victim had been having drinks with friends in the lobby.

At some point, she lost consciousness, and, according to police, Millard picked her up and took her to his hotel room, where she awakened the next day.

She found police officers in the lobby and was then taken to Washington Hospital Center for an exam.

According to the Washington Post, Millard, a guest at the hotel, told police he tried to help the woman when he found her unconscious. He said he took her to his room, but had consent.
