DC Girl to Be Held Until Trial in Teen's Shooting Death

A 15-year-old girl accused of killing an Anacostia Senior High School student is being held in custody until her trial.

The girl, whose name is not being released because she is a juvenile, appeared Thursday in D.C. Superior Court. Her trial date was set for May 9.

During a hearing Monday, a detective who investigated the shooting testified that the girl told him she had been playing with a gun when she shot Gary Gordon inside a home. The detective also testified that someone tried to cover up the crime to make it look like the fatal shot had come from outside.
