It is day 3 without power for thousands of BGE customers-- and frustration is growing.
Alan Wright, of Maryland City, has been buying dry ice to keep his food cold. Wright says he called the power company to report the outage, but the customer service representative could not give him an estimate for when power would be restored.
As of early this morning, 254,000 BGE customers were out of electricity. Anne Arundel County has been the hardest hit with 66,000 outages. In Prince George's county, about 10,000 customers were without power early this morning.
The utility is bringing in another 250 power and tree crews from the state of Alabama. BGE has 2,700 of its own workers and another 1,500 out-of-state workers on the streets already.
BGE customers who are in the dark should call 877-778-2222. Callers should provide details about fallen trees and broken utility poles, so officials know what resources will be needed to restore service.
