    Some Georgetown residents are on alert in light of an apparent burglary spree.

    Thieves have broken into at least eight homes in the past two weeks.
    The most recent burglary happened Wednesday night in the 1400 block of 36th street in Northwest Washington.
    A Georgetown student said a burglar punched him in the face when he confronted him.
    The burglar got away with electronics and jewelry.
