The Chain Bridge closed for the weekend at 8 p.m. Friday.
Crews will be working under the bridge deck.
There is no access from either D.C. or Arlington, Va., and that includes pedestrians and bikers because the sidewalk also will be closed.
Traffic on Canal Road won't be affected.
The bridge will reopen 5 a.m. Monday.
