Brush Fire In Anne Arundel Co.

4-Alarm fire spreads to boat in Edgewater

A four-alarm brush fire that broke out in Anne Arundel County has spread to a structure and a small boat in Edgewater.

A spokesman for the Anne Arundel Fire Department told News4 that the fire broke out at approximately 2 p.m. Sunday at 3744 Beach Drive and eventually spread to a nearby marina building and the vessel.

According to the Department, 94 personnel have been called to the scene. As of 4:40 p.m. Sunday, the fire had been contained, but had not yet been extinguished.

Unlike last week, no Red Flag Warnings have been officially posted for the Washington and Baltimore areas, but the lack of precipitation has made quick-spreading fires a threat.

The latest forecast from Storm4 meteorologist Chuck Bell calls for high temperatures to reach in the 80s Sunday and Monday, with a high of 78 forecasted for Tuesday. No precipitation is likely until Wednesday.
