Body of Gaithersburg Father Found in Potomac River

Police say the body of a fisherman from Gaithersburg has been found along the Maryland banks of the Potomac River near Sandy Hook.

Maryland Natural Resources Police say 37-year-old Daniel Figueroa is believed to have drowned sometime after Saturday, when he was swept into the White Horse rapids while trying to swim to a large boulder.

Figueroa, a landscaper by trade according to WHAG, leaves behind three children, two of whom were with him on the weekend outing.

Police say family members found Figueroa's body Tuesday morning while searching the area across the river from Harpers Ferry, W.Va.

Though authorities belive he drowned, they're still waiting for the result of an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
