Body Found in Shenandoah River May Be Silver Spring Woman

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. -- An elderly woman found dead in the Shenandoah River may be from Silver Spring, Md., authorities said.
 
Police began searching Harpers Ferry Sunday because a Buick LeSabre had been left in a prohibited for more than two days, according to WHAG.
 
A 76-year-old woman's body was found Monday morning. Police said she's the woman whose identification was found in the LeSabre.
 
The identification indicated that the woman is from Silver Spring. The woman was not reported missing to Montgomery County police.
 
The woman's family has yet to be contacted.
