Body Found at Downtown D.C. Metro Station

A man's body was found at the Judiciary Square Metro Station Wednesday afternoon.

Philip Stewart with WMATA said the body was found just before 3 p.m. behind a parapet wall on the platform toward Shady Grove.

The station's 4th Street entrance was closed past 6 p.m. for the investigation, and riders were asked to use the F Street entrance instead. Eight-car trains did not stop at the station as riders in the last two cars would have had a view of the police scene, but six-car trains did continue to stop.

Stewart said Metro and D.C. police are on the scene and are working to determine the man's cause of death, although News4's Jackie Bensen is reporting police do not suspect foul play.
