Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck an 8-year-old child as they tried to board a school bus, Anne Arundel County Police say.
The child was trying to board the bus about 7 a.m. Thursday at Shoreline Boulevard and Bayou Bend Road in Laurel. A driver in a dark-colored, SUV-style vehicle then struck the child and drove off, police say.
The child was taken to a pediatric center with injuries that are not life threatening.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact police at 410-222-8610.
