7 Adults, 2 Children Hurt in Metrobus Crash in Northeast

All injuries were minor, police say

Two children and seven adults sustained minor injuries Saturday when a Metrobus crashed, D.C. Fire and EMS says.

The bus was near the intersection of N. Capitol and K streets NE when it collided with a truck, D.C. Fire and EMS said. Photos show a panel hanging off a back corner of the bus on the driver's side. Red debris was  on the road, but most of the bus was not visibly damaged.

Everyone injured had been aboard the bus, according to D.C. Fire and EMS. A mass casualty medical bus took those injured to the hospital.

Pictures from the crash scene show a yellow Penske truck parked near the scene. Officials have not confirmed that it was involved.

It's unclear which route the bus was on, the exact circumstances of the crash or how many people were on board.

D.C. Fire and EMS released a photo of one first responder holding and comforting a small child after the crash.
