5 Shot Overnight in DC; Suspects Still on the Loose

Five people were shot overnight Sunday into Monday in the District.

Four of the victims were shot in a single incident in Southeast D.C. It happened about midnight in the 3900 block of S. Capitol Street. At least two of the victims have life-threatening injuries. The two other victims were not believed to be as seriously injured.

Police are searching for four suspects, who left the scene heading toward Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE.

About half an hour earlier, a man was shot in the 2800 block of 14th Street NW. He is expected to survive.

Police are searching for one suspect in that shooting.

More details about the shootings were not immediately available.
