29 Arrested on Federal Drug Charges

The U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia announced that 29 people have been arrested on federal drug charges.

The arrests were part of an ongoing investigation by the Cross Border Task Force into a network that distributed heroin, crack cocaine, powder cocaine and other drugs in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia, U.S. Attorney Ronald Machen said Thursday.

A total of 31 locations were searched during Thursday's law enforcement actions. They included 15 in the District of Columbia, 14 in Prince George's and Montgomery counties in Maryland and one in Richmond, Va.

Authorities have seized about $100,000 in cash. They also seized about 15 grams of heroin and about 10 grams of crack cocaine. About a half-pound of marijuana and 13 firearms also were seized.
