2 Critically Injured, 6 Others Hurt in Brandywine Crash, Fire Officials Say

Traffic was backed up on US 301 South for miles Thursday night

One person has life-threatening injuries and another is in critical condition after a crash that injured a total of eight people in Brandywine, Maryland, Thursday night, fire officials say.

The crash happened at Crain Highway SW/US 301 South near Timothy Branch Drive about 8 p.m., Prince George's County Fire Department spokesman Mark Brady said on Twitter.

News4's Shomari Stone reports traffic was backed up for miles on US 301 South due to the crash.

The person with life-threatening injuries is in extremely critical condition. Another person in critical condition was flown to the hospital, Brady said on Twitter.

Six others have non-serious injuries, Brady said.

No further information has been released at this time.
