Join us for the 2016 NBC4 Health & Fitness Expo kickoff event, Hiring Our Heroes.
Hiring Our Heroes is a networking and hiring fair for all military service members, veterans and their spouses. About 350 job seekers are currently registered for the event, which will take place on Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
The event has two sessions:
- GE Employment Workshop from 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
- Hiring Fair from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
During the GE Employment Workshop, active duty members will have the opportunity to engage in a one-on-one mentoring session with a GE human resource or workforce employee. GE Program Manager for Global Energy and Development Chip Cotton will orchestrate the workshop.
The session will help job seekers prepare for the hiring fair later in the day with personalized resume coaching and interviewing tips.
More than 100 employers are currently registered and will be stationed at the Convention Center for the hiring fair.

The event is free, and job seekers can register here. As you register, you will need to provide basic information and proof of service.
You can also upload your resume for employers to view ahead of time. Walk-ins are also welcome.
