PETA to Make a Stink About Meat Eaters at D.C. Restaurant

Washington power lunchers heading for a steak and brew at the Capitol Grill Friday will be greeted by a cow making loud fart sounds.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is calling it's protest outside the popular steak house, "An Inconvenient Toot."

The boisterous animal rights group wants to call attention to the United Nations report that links animal farming to greenhouse gases. The U.N. reports that the methane produced by the animals raised on these factory farms is a major contributior to the gases that are equated with climate change.

PETA said the cow will be a costumed employee and it's focus on The Capitol Grill is merely logistical. It's location at 601 Pennsyvannia Avenue gives them a busy street on which to put out their message. The message:  Go vegan.

PETA selected Friday because just blocks away at the Convention Center, Green American is hosting the annual Green Festival, a massive event that invites consumers to explore the many ways they can adopt a more planet-friendly lifestyle.
