A week after rolling out his first D.C. food truck, José Andrés continues to draw considerable lunchtime crowds to his silvery flauta mobile.
Young & Hungry counted 28 people standing in line outside the Pepe truck at Franklin Square around 12:51 p.m. on Monday, with another eight or so waiting to the side to receive their orders. The line was a lot shorter (and, in some cases, entirely non-existent) at other trucks parked nearby, including Fojol Bros. and Sol.
By 1:44 p.m., Andrés' truck had reportedly run out of food. Read my take on Andrés' most pricey curbside sandwich, the $20 pepito de Iberico, here.
