Like the ubiquitous pop-ups that spread through the District last spring, clothing swaps seem to be the latest of D.C.'s fashion-oriented event trends. This Saturday, September 10, trade the old for the new at the Hilyer Art Space's 'Swap Shop.'
This particular swap promises meticulous organization to ensure maximum swapping fairness. Attendees are asked to arrive at 11 a.m. with their bag (or bags) of goodies and will be given a ticket for each item they bring. Each ticket, in turn, can be traded for someone else's swapped item.
Swapping will begin at 12 p.m. and last until 4 p.m. And, if you don't stumble upon a lucky find during the rush, vintage purveyors will also have booths of clothes you can purchase the regular way. Tickets are $10 and can be bought here. Both men and women are welcome, but they will have separate swapping spaces, so forget about that menswear ensemble you've been perfecting for fall.
