Paris Hilton On Her Burglary: ‘I Am Devastated'

A distraught Paris Hilton has spoken out following the burglary that saw a reported $2 million worth of the celebutante’s personal property stolen from her Hollywood Hills home.

“I am devastated,” she told Life & Style Weekly. “I cannot believe someone broke into my home. They took items that had such sentimental value that no one will ever be able to replace.”

According to the Los Angeles Times, the burglar took $2 million in jewelry and other items. The burglary took place early Friday morning, the LAPD confirmed to Access Hollywood on Friday. According to the police, a man in a hooded sweatshirt and gloves forced entry through the front door of her house and proceeded to ransack her bedroom.

Luckily, the heiress wasn’t home.

“I’m just thankful that I wasn’t there when it happened,” she told the mag.

Paris’ mom, Kathy, echoed her daughter’s sentiments, telling E! News on Saturday that Paris’ safety comes first.

“She and I were talking about it and really, it is stuff,” Kathy told E! “I’m just happy that she’s okay… you can’t be possessed by your possessions. Those are just things. And I’m happy that she’s okay.”
