Man Found Dead 5 Hours After Being Evaluated By Fire/EMS Personnel

About five hours after he was evaluated by D.C. Fire and EMS personnel, a man was found dead in Northeast Wednesday morning.

Ed Givens' mother called an ambulance to his home on Division Avenue late Tuesday when he complained of chest pains.

The 39-year-old Givens wanted to go to a hospital, his family said, but he was told he probably had a case of acid reflux and advised to take milk of magnesium.

Givens was found dead about 5 a.m. Wednesday.

The D.C. Fire and EMS Department is investigating the case.
