Jessica Simpson ‘Keeping The Faith' In First Post-Weight-Gate TV Appearance

A week-and-a-half after hitting the stage with a fuller figure, Jessica Simpson sat down on CBS’ “The Early Show” to perform her new single and talk about her tour and her much talked about weight gain.

The aspiring country star’s latest single is “Pray Out Loud” – a track she said her father inspired.

“I grew up with my father being a youth minister, so as a family we’d always pray out loud together,” she said of the song she co-wrote.

The former pop singer is on tour with Rascal Flatts in support of her country debut, “Do You Know.”

“We play Madison Square Garden tomorrow, and everybody is warm and welcoming and I get lots of hugs. I like that,” she said, adding, “Honestly, I am right where I am supposed to be and I am so very happy.”

Dressed in all black with her hair pulled back, the stylish star seemed a long way from the double-belted “mom jeans” that got her in hot water recently.

“You look absolutely beautiful,” “Early Show” co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez told her before alluding to the weight-gain controversy. “Everything going OK for you? I know you have been through a lot lately.”

“No. Everything is really great,” Jessica said. “It’s all about keeping the faith. That’s why I pray out loud, as my single.”
