Get High with Aerialist at Fort Reno Tonight

Head to the highest point in D.C. to get down and dirty (musically speaking)

If you haven't been to Fort Reno Park (Nebraska Avenue N.W. and Chesapeake Street N.W.) in Tenleytown yet, there's never been a better time. In addition to being able to check out the highest point in the city (a dizzying 409 feet, whew!) on your holiday weekend scavenger hunt, you can also enjoy local indie bands every Monday and Thursday for the rest of the month.

Tonight's lineup features Aerialist, a duo whose lead singer Larry Hoffman spends his free time as the owner and booker of Galaxy Hut. (When Aerialist plays at the Hut, does he just write himself a check?). The pair's other member, Nikhil Ranade, keeps himself busy running sound at the Black Cat, so it's pretty rare to catch these guys playing out. As a matter of fact, their MySpace page only mentions the Fort Reno show, so catch them while you can.

Also on the bill are hip-hop group The Eubonics, and Caverns, an experimental punk trio known for their high-energy live shows.
