Woman Arrested for Drunken Driving, Cutting Off Hearse

WARRENTON, Va. (AP) — Fauquier County police have charged a woman who cut off a hearse and hit another car in the funeral procession with drunken driving and other offenses.

Police say 22-year-old Kara Deans cut off a hearse then rear-ended another car in the procession before leading police officers on a high-speed chase on Saturday afternoon. The Washington Post reports (http://wapo.st/2nbvraN ) that when officers tried to pull Deans over she made a U-turn in a median, lost part of her fender then sped off. Police say she reached speeds of up to 100 miles per hour while trying to evade law enforcement.

Deans is being held without bond at the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center. She faces driving under the influence, interfering with a funeral procession and felony hit-and-run charges.
