WASHINGTON — If you’re planning a Sunday morning outing, you might need to plan ahead: thousands of runners will be hitting the pavement for the annual Army Ten-Miler.
D.C. police are advising the public about street closures connected to the run, scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 8. The race starts at 8 a.m. at the Pentagon. See a map of the race start here.
These streets will be closed along the race route starting at 6 a.m. and should reopen by 12 p.m.:
- Rock Creek Parkway between Virginia Avenue NW and Independence Avenue SW
- Virginia Avenue NW between Rock Creek Parkway and Constitution Avenue NW
- Constitution Avenue NW between 23rd Street NW and 15th Street NW
- Independence Avenue SW between 23rd Street NW and 7th Street SW
- 14th Street Bridge HOV Lanes between Arlington, Virginia, and Independence Avenue SW
- 7th Street SW between Independence Avenue SW and C Street SW
- 9th Street SW between Independence Avenue SW and C Street SW
Drivers are being warned of potential delays and should find alternate routes when they can.
