Separate Shootings Kill 4 People Over 2 Days in Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Four deaths in separate shootings over two days in Virginia’s capital are under police investigation.

Richmond Times-Dispatch reports Sunday and Monday marked the deadliest two-day period all year in Richmond. There were four shooting deaths in May over a three-day period.

Sunday was the second day since Jan. 29 that Richmond police have worked three slayings in a single day. There was no day in 2016 that had as many killed. Shortly after 12 a.m. officers found 38-year-old Leonard S. Carr dead. Around 7:15 p.m. 32-year-old Jamar L. Anderson arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound that was fatal. Roughly three hours later 35-year-old Terrain L. Hunter was in the driver’s seat of a white SUV and died at the scene.

A Monday sidewalk shooting killed an unidentified man.
