RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Richmond’s historic Maymont will soon be reopening its barn to visitors.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/2n1GjJr ) that the $3 million renovation at the 100-acre Victorian estate overlooking the James River includes changes designed to make it easier for children to feed the attraction’s farm animals.
A wealthy family donated Maymont to the city in 1925. Maymont includes a historic mansion and surrounding buildings as well as a children’s farm, nature center, arboretum and gardens.
